Arguably the best close out on the KZN coast, Umdloti can throw up some heavy pits and perfect rides on its day. If you’re ready to paddle out to Umdloti for a good cause, then be sure not to miss The Umdloti Invitational Surf Comp, taking place this June.
The Umdloti Invitational Surfing competition is an Umdloti community initiative sponsored by Sandbar, Poison City Brewing and Pollywog, in support of the Umdloti Improvement Project (UIP).
Selected competitors have been invited to the line-up, including Umdloti rippers like Dylan Stewart, Mark Shepperson, Bevan Willis and Wade Simkiss as well other Umdloti locals. Regular visitors such as Josh and Dan Redman, Brandon Jackson and Chris Frolich will also be participating, with fellow North Coast surfers and world champions Twiggy and Banksy also in the draw.
The event starts bright ‘n early at 07h00 at the Umdloti Point and ends at 13h00, with some sick prizes up for grabs for both competitors and supporters. The prize giving and post event function / jol will take place at Sandbar in Umdloti from 14h00.
