Durban’s Slade Prestwich and Cape Town’s Brendon Gibbens have been included in the 24 man list of International competitors who’ll be taking part in Red Bull Unleashed at Surf Snowdonia in Dolgarrog Wales, on 18 – 19 September.
Surf Snowdonia offers mechanical 150m rides.
Surf Snowdonia is the first Wavegarden to be opened to the public, and despite a small hiccup which required the park to be closed for 10 days to repair a mechanical fault, Surf Snowdonia has been pumping out rippable walls for the past month.
The artificially created waves will take some getting used to, but Brendan and Slade will get a chance to figure the mechanical wall out in the qualifying on Thursday before the main event. Competitors will be given six rides each to work out the wave and their respective seeding for the event.
Invited British Pros, Alan Stokes and Jayce Robinson already have their eye in.
The main event will start on Friday 18 September, with the finals taking place on Saturday 19 September.
