Keep Your Eyes Peeled, More Than Usual

False Bay surfers will need to keep their eyes peeled more than usual this week, after a 30m southern right whale carcass was spotted drifting offshore near Capricorn Beach on Sunday. The carcass had received several bites from resident sharks and there’s reportedly lots of blood and blubber afloat in the vicinity – a scent that will likely be attracting a lot of attention. Beaches between Muizenberg and Monwabisi have been closed until the whale carcass can be removed.
