Cage Diving Banned in Oz

Shark cage diving – and the use of chumming –  has been banned in Australia. The decision was taken recently by the Australian government as a preemptive move after a series of fatal attacks. South African shark cage diving operators reacted strongly to the news.

    Weirdist logic I’ve heard since Shabir Shaik was paroled because he is terminally ill! West Australia, which has never had any shark cage diving operations, has four fatal shark attacks since September, so they ban cage diving.

    That’s like banning Hippo safaris on the Durban beachfront because Hippos kill more people in Africa than any other animal. WTF Ozzies?

    @ Kahuna – but Southern OZ has had plenty of attacks, where there is cage diving. And what are they finding out with all these shark they’re tagging? That they like to travel. Put 2 + 2 together.
    I think SA could take a note from the Ozzies for once.
