A black sludge and dodgy odour emanating from the Dairy side of North Beach pier was seen after contractors, tasked with unblocking the stormwater pipes running through the piers, sucked up the debris and spewed it onto the beach instead of carting it away.
Pretty miff, and Town surfers will be cautious not to step in it when heading out for a surf, as theirs nothing quite like oily footprints in thier fresh coat of wax.
