Bay Pier closed and may collapse

The Bay pier is reported to be on its last legs, and is considered a ‘failed structure’ by city engineers. The pylons are basically caving in and there’s talk that a massive swell could signal the deathblow. The pier was recently closed as a precautionary measure. Zag Spy says fill that sucker up with rocks, build it out a few more metres, and bring back the Bay of Plenty.
