Talk about a ‘school’ of sharks – In a study conducted in the Bahamas and published in the Journal of Animal Cognition it has been discovered that Lemon Sharks are the first cartilaginous fish to demonstrate social learning. In the study, untrained sharks were teamed up with trained sharks to perform a simple task. When the untrained sharks were left to their own devices, they performed the task poorly, but once they were teamed up with the trained sharks, they were quick to figure out the process.
