Why Not Surf Better?

Heads up Durban, globetrotting Saffa surf coach and shaper, Clayton Nienaber is back and will be holding a Corrective Surf Coaching Session at the Breakers Hotel in Umhlanga tomorrow night. So if you’re a grom with aspirations of making it to the big show of the WSL, or a concerned parent of the grom keen live vicariously through the achievements of your offspring, or if you’re just a surf enthusiast who wishes to get more power in your turns and flow down the line, linking sections with ease and aplomb, then this session is most certainly for you!

R100 bucks gets you in the room and the insights are sure to make you face-palm yourself as you realise you’ve been getting it wrong for so long. Clayton Nienabar has been involved in top flight surfing for the last 30 years, has competed on the QS and coached all levels in SA, working with none other than Jordy Smith, Ricky Basnett and Travis Logie. “Without Clayton as my coach I would not have come close to making it onto the WCT.” Reckons ol’ Rick Bobby. “He has a really unique style of coaching and explained things to me in such simple terms (although sometimes brutally honest!). To this day I still use techniques that I learned from Clay.”
