The Umhlanga Summer Festival has been running for 11 years now and is a great way to get into the swing of the December summer madness. The holidays are calling! Be sure to enter the Lizzard Hurricane contest that will be going down beginning of December. Full press release below:

The Umhlanga Main Beach will be alive with activity on 10th and 11th December as some of South Africa’s best will battling it out to win a portion of the R50 000 total prize and product money on offer in the various divisions. The surfing contest is the opening event for the Umhlanga Summer Festival 2016 which is supported by Just Juice. Surfers of all ages and abilities are invited and welcome to take part as there will divisions ranging from novice to pro. Spectators will also be rewarded with exciting prizes and lucky draws by the gorgeous Just Juice promoters working at the event.

- Men’s Masters (35+)
- Men’s Open
- Boys U18
- Boys U14
- Boys Novice
- Ladies Open
- Ladies U18
- Ladies U14
- Longboard Men’s
- Open Tag Team Event.
One of the most contested heats of the event is the Just Juice Tag Team event which sees rival teams showing their skills for a slice of the R10 000 reward. The surfer that ‘blows up’ and shows the best performance at the competition will win R1000 cash from Zigzag Surfing Magazine. Surfers and spectators will also receive free issues of Zigzag magazine.
