Bonza Bay local, Scott Roebert, cleans up the beach below his house with fellow local Karl, who along with the help of his friend Karen have picked up and re-cycled around 47 000 bottles picked up from the beach! By documenting his efforts, Scott gains entry into our Tuffy Beach Clean-Up competition, which puts him in the running to win a brand new shred stick compliments of Firewire and Share The Stoke Foundation.

“Living in East London I’m blessed to be just a short walk away from the beach and capitalise on that big time with morning and evening walks with the dogs. This also doubles up as a first hand surf report! I’m on the right and the fella on the left is Carl, another local who walks the beach every morning picking up plastic and bottles. Over the past few years Carl and Karen (the photographer) have picked up over 47 000 bottles and put them in the recycle bin. Yes forty seven thousand!!!”
“Keeping the beach clean isn’t a mission at all but a collective effort. Most of the fellow morning beach walkers in Bonza Bay pick up a few pieces of plastic and rubbish on their way back to their cars and this make a massive impact on the cleanliness of our little beach. If we all play along our beaches will all be such cleaner places.” – Scott Roebert
