Clean and Green in Senegal

Based in Dakar, Senegal, Ash Stanley got to work along the rubbish filled roads next to his surf spot at Le Virage Beach. By snapping images of the evidence, Ash gains entry into our Tuffy Beach Clean-Up competition, which puts him in the running to win a brand new shred stick compliments of Firewire and Share The Stoke Foundation.

“I live in Dakar, Senegal, and this is a green area right next to the beach at Le Virage, just outside of Dakar where I work and surf. It’s right next to the road so the rubbish moves from the road to this area and then gets blown to the beach.”

“I picked up the trash and put it in plastic bags that are also there with the wrappers and bottles. I thought this would be a good spot to prevent it from getting to the beach and tide pools. Thanks!” – Ash Stanley
