We all know how groms can hardly wait till their next session without frothing out, so you can be certain that most of the junior competitors entered into next week’s third leg of the Billabong Junior Series are going to be shaking in their booties with excitement at Long Beach – four months after competing in the previous stop in East London in April.
The juniors love competing – they’d have a surf-off to win a chocolate bar, but when you throw in over R750,000 worth of prizes, then you’re guaranteed some heated match-ups.
Slade Prestwich took out the Pro Juniors in East London, while Dylan Lightfoot took top honours in Durban (leg 1), but if you’re interested in finding out who’ll take the title in Cape Town, then you’ll have to head down to Long Beach on 24/25 August to find out.
