An improvement in conditions saw The Roxy Pro Gold Coast complete rounds three and four at Snapper Rocks today after there were rumours of the event moving to Durnabah, because of the lack in swell. There were some high scores being thrown around but heat of the day went to Silvana Lima (BRA) and Sally Fitzgibbons (AUS) for their Round 4 Heat 2 match-up in what many were calling one of the best heats in women’s surfing history.
Silvana was in combo position for most of the heat until she dropped the event’s first perfect ten which included a solid 360 aerial. From then on it was a see-saw battle between the two girls right up until the hooter, but Silvana managed to sneak past Sally in the dying minutes. If you are looking for a heat to watch in the Heats On Demand, it’s a heat definitely worth the view time.
