This past weekend saw the final Llandudno Boardriders event of the season take place in clean four-foot conditions, with over 45 surfers contesting the five divisions.
Jordan Alexander took the win in the Open division with some radical surfing.
Some serious upsets went down on the day in the Open division, but it was Jordan Alexander taking the title over Neil Zietsman, Liam Wood and Cassie Severson with an air reverse and amazing left barrel in the final.
Max Elkington and many of the juniors raced back from Western Province Champs at Long Beach to surf the Junior final, with Max pipping Luke Slijpen to the podium.
John McD got the barrel of the day, which he got spat out of twice.
The Masters showed some great rail surfing on the spring high tide with Volker Mielk, Mike Snyman, Jacque Smit, Cassie Severson, Steve Roland and John Slijpen fighting it out for the win. In the end, Jacque Smit claimed victory with some progressive surfing.
Junior finalists lined-up for the prizegiving.
The day ended with a huge braai, tunes and prizegiving at the Llandudno Lifesaving Club. Big thanks goes to sponsors: Frank Maritz, Llandudno Lifesaving, Red Bull, Quiksilver, Skull Candy, Wetsac and Neff.
