Young Guns Surf is the perfect platform for you to prove you are one of the best under 18-year-old surfers in the world. Quiksilver is going on a mission to find the eight most innovative Young Guns around the globe to shoot it out at a Secret Final. So find a cameraman, fine tune your quiver and prepare your air, rail and combo game, because it could be you!
Launching tomorrow – Round 1 provides three different ways to for you to get involved.  #YGRail / #YGAir / #YGCombo.

Using Instagram, post your best clips tagging @quiksilver and hashtagging whichever of the above categories you want to throw your chances at. For example, let’s say you’ve got a crazy air you want to enter. Load it up on the gram, tag @quiksilver and #YGAir. Then cross your salty fingers your sitting on the goods.

We want you to enter as many times as you can. The more the merrier. Our official Young Guns judges – Mr Zeke Lau,  Mr Mikey Wright, and Mr Jeremy Flores will make the Round 1 call.

If you’re not under the age of 18 on December 31, 2016, then sorry old man, you’re out. On the flip side, you need to be over the age of 13 before May 1, 2016 to qualify.

Ok, let’s break these categories down for you guys.

#YGRail –  Ezekiel Lau will be taking care of this one, and rightly so, this guy can move more water than a firetruck. This category is all about the hacks. Bury the rail and make it rain.
Zeke’s tip: I am looking for Power! I wanna see you guys lay everything you’ve got into a section. Throwing massive amounts of water and burying that rail. Get as much speed as possible put that board on some open face and let it rip!

#YGAir  – Mikey Wright will be scrolling his feed hunting down your best punts. So line up the section and don’t look back… just make sure you stomp it clean and try not to claim!
Mikey’s Tip: Go big and don’t hold back. Spot your section and go for it. 100%. Tech up your grabs too, show some variation..but most of all stomp it clean. I don’t want to see you dig your way out of the wash.

#YGCombo – Time to upsize. Combo will be judged by none other than World Top 10 surfer Jeremy Flores. Jeremy will be scanning the gram for multiple hits on a single wave. Think speed, power and flow. Keep it fluid and you’ll have no trouble moving through.
Jeremy’s Tip: Push as hard as possible on a couple different sections on the same wave. Attack every section and every opportunity you get on the wave. I’m looking for a combinations of huge turns, big rail carves followed by a big air or something special. Show me you can turn an average wave into something WOW.

Round one goes from May 3 – May 31. Enter all the categories. And not only once, enter them as many times as you want. We want you posting the best waves you have on film. It can be old or new clips but you have to post them inside the Round 1 dates for them to qualify as an entry. Each judge will pick their favourite 10 surfers to move to Round 2, forming the Young Guns Top 30.
