Lay Day (x4) – Volcom Fiji Pro Waiting for ‘The Day’

There's been a lot of this for the last four days at the Volcom Fiji Pro.

There’s been a lot of this for the last four days at the Volcom Fiji Pro.

There’s been four consecutive lay days in Fiji as Dream Tour competitors try to stay focused on the remainder of Round 3, which still needs to be completed.

There is still plenty of time left in the waiting period, another four days, so fitting in the remaining heats should not be a problem – as long the forecasted swell hangs around for the two days needed to complete the event.

The last heat surfed in Round 3 saw Jordy Smith take the world ratings lead and book his spot in Round 4, with an amazing display of tuberiding and big backhand turns in wild and windy, but perfect Restaurants.

Travis Logie, who got one of the deepest tubes of Round 1 to advance directly to the Round 3, will be up in the fifth heat of the day when competition resumes.

CLOUDBREAK, Tavarua/Fiji (Monday, June 10, 2013) – After a day of assessing conditions, event organizers have opted to call competition off for the day, likely recommencing tomorrow in projected improved surf.
