Port Alfred’s Main Beach will once again bring the Surfing South Africa Pro Surf Tour (PST) to a fitting conclusion when the 2A rated 2012 Guido’s SA Open takes place there on Saturday 15 December.

Former Mr Price Pro Champion and ASP World Championship Tour surfer Ricky Basnett of Durban won the 2011 edition of the contest and might be back to defend his title while two time SA Open Champion Greg Emslie of East London has already confirmed that he will be competing.

Emslie will be hoping to end the year in style and successfully defend the 2012 PST Championship title which will be awarded to the PST champion at Guidos during the SA Open Award Function on the evening of Saturday 15 December.

The National Masters Team selection trials are scheduled to take place at the same venue on Friday December 14th and Surfing South Africa is expecting these surfers to compete in the SA Open as well.

Members of the local surf club, Kowie Boardriders, have been given a 50% discount on their entry fees and organizers are hoping for a strong local turnout in the final event of the year.

The Guidos SA Open entry form is available on the Surfing South Africa website www.surfingsouthafrica.co.za. Entries must be completed online.

The Guido’s SA Open of Surfing is hosted by the Kowie Boardriders and presented by Surfing South Africa. It forms part of the 2012 Surfing South Africa Pro Surf Tour (PST).
