Mossel Bay surf coach, Llewellyn Whittaker, has worked tirelessly the past few months organising The Boss of Moss – a two day event that will see a host of SA’s best junior competitors going head-to-head for the title. With the Billabong SA Junior Champs coming up less than a month later in Jeffreys Bay, The Boss of Moss will be a good opportunity for the groms to get well prepared.

ENTRIES NOW OPEN FOR BOSS OF MOSS PRO JUNIOR
Entries are open for the Eden District’s very own premier Junior contest. The Boss of Moss will take place at the fabled Point in Mossel Bay on 19 and 20 September 2015. The event is sanctioned by Surfing South Africa, carries a 2A rating and will feature Under 12 Boys, Under 14 Boys and Girls, Under 16 Boys and Girls, and Under 20 Boys and Girls.
According to Contest Director, Llewellyn Whittaker, the business owners and community of Mossel Bay have showed incredible support in getting the funds together to host an event of this magnitude. “I am blown away by the enthusiasm of the locals and municipality,” he said.
The motivation behind organising an event in Mossel Bay is two-fold for Whittaker: to help strengthen the junior contest scene and provide a boost for the local business community.

A total of R22 250 in prize money is up for grabs as well as various other product and experience prizes. “There is a two-night Stay at B@home guest house, a weekend stay at Point Village Hotel, as well as the Wilderness Hotel,” said Whittaker. “Mitat will also be sponsoring a night’s accommodation.”
The timing of the event falls less than a month before the Billabong SA Junior Champs in J-Bay, so is ideal point-break training for that event.
