Beyrick De Vries is through to Round 5 of the SATA Azores Pro, where he’ll be facing the experienced Yadin Nicol (AUS) in Heat 7.
Beyrick is on a roll in San Miguel.
The Umhlanga Rocks local has been looking hungry to add some solid WQS points to the 1300 he banked last month at the US Open, and has been ripping his way through the heat draw. He is guaranteed another 2400 points for his performances so far in the Azores, but won’t hold back at the chance to secure some more.
There are no easy heats at a Prime event though, and Beyrick knows he will have to be on his game against Yadin. Thankfully the waves have been more contestable than Huntington, which should make it twice as exciting as he takes on the Western Australian.
Barrels, lips and ramps. The waves have been rippable at the SATA Azores Pro.
Beyrick will be up in the third heat when competition resumes and you can watch it LIVE on aspworldtour.com. The call is expected around 2:00pm (SA Time), when they’ll decide whether to run some heats or wait.
