Wave of the Day – Jason Ribbink – J-Bay – 28 September 2013

Jason Ribbink caught this steaming cauldron over the weekend, when a thick swell turned Boneyards, Salad Bowls and Tubes into barreling monsters, and while the lighties were dealing with thick sets at The Point for the Hurley SA Junior Champs.

Kai Linder provides the commentary and the video.

I never said anything about charging, I said he had the worst style in the world, the fact that I can charge or not isn’t gonna help his ugly style!

Jeez, Disco – haters gotta hate. Appreciate this for what it is, a mental barrel. Also, you need to imagine what your style will look like in a similarly hectic situation, then only can you pass judgement.

He is one of the Best surfers at J Bay in anything over 6ft. I think he has a great style !. Disco has been hitting to many Discos and not enough surfing. Factor in that he is 6’1 tall and riding a 5’11 surfboard. I am not to sure Slater could have made that wave look any better. Disco Doos should be your name, keep hating and watching from the desktop while the real surfers get barreled.

Don’t give disco such a hard time – am sure if he wasn’t busy updating his top-turn profile pic on Facebook he would have been out there charging with Parko-like style.

the fact that Reg just said that kelly slater could surfed this wave any better then the greatest surfer of all time proves that he has no idea what he’s talking about so we’ll leave him out of this.
I did comment on Jason’s ability he’s won enough events to prove he can ride a surfboard. What i was stating is that he has a horrible style, the fact that i can do a bottom turn or not is still not going to help Jason’s style.
you know who has an epic style Frankie and Simon Nicholson they have epic styles.
