The Wall (Durban)

[BMo_scrollGallery id=282]

Durban was hammered by a solid 5 metre swell this past Sunday 19 October, and Twiggy ventured out to try and ride the crazy 15 foot barrels exploding at The Wall – a fresh big wave discovery in the Bay.

Wow….12-15 ft and Durban goes into hysteria and self-abuse. Weird place….

I watched them..Twig was on the shoulders only…the tow’ers gave it a go from the peak.
.but reckon they need a new ski driver..as he pulled them on the kakest waves, the good ones went empty

Whats with the haters?? This spot is for real, a serious top to bottom grinding pit in anyone’s book, I don’t care who (you think) you are! The wave has only appeared over the last few years, and only now really moving far enough off the dollose to surf, thanks to the sand building up. Things not always as they appear from far off footage.. I’m sure most of the commentators here would go running with tail between their legs if they got anywhere near it! If not then hows to give me a shout when you do go surf it so I can catch a ride on your ski.. And yes you do need a ski unless you fancy swimming K’s out to sea in a shipping lane when you snap your leash…

      youre missing the point
I don’t think there are any haters
      10-15 ft is 10-15ft
the first part of the wave is deadly even for CT standards,
which isn’t shown on the vid and I don’t forsee any paddlers on that section too soon
Its just zags take on the whole thing,,too dramatic…and is easily ridable over 8 days a month… every month,
it even breaks left on some days
also the name it was given..
if twigs was the first paddler on it… then he gets to name it..not the tow’ers
