Sequence of the Week – Jem Johnson – Prowlers, Ireland

[scrollGallery id=152]

We take a dip into the archives to 8 November 2010 for our Sequence of the Week.

This session at a newly discovered Irish big wave spot named ‘Prowlers’ made headlines around the world, and it was Cape Town charger Jeremy Johnson who rode the biggest wave of the day.

That it was his very first wave on his very first trip to Ireland makes the moment just that much crazier, as Jem further solidified SA’s reputation of producing some of the world’s most respected watermen.

Click through the gallery to check out the mutant drop, then watch the video below for more from this crazy session. (Jem’s wave is at the 2:10 mark – Ed)

Hear that? That clanging sound? Must be one of these big wave nutters walking in a peculiar bow-legged fashion.
