Two weeks ago, South Africa was hit by an unusual weather system. It’s called a Cut-Off Low and it wrecked havoc across the county. Tornado’s, floods, heavy snow fall, gale force gusts and of course a rare easterly ocean swell. And we all know what the latter means – some sick point breaks…
A group of surfers spent hours in the car for the chance to have one good session at a rare right point break… Read the short Dirty Habits back-story and check out the video below. Featuring some of SA’s best: Frank Solomon, Matt Bromley, Robbie Schofield, Steezy Steve Sawyer, Darryl Partington, Jonno Sweetman, Jarrod David, Pieter de Wit, Juriah Muller and Graham Howe.

“These rare, fickle waves came alive for a short window and the Dirty Habits crew hit the road at the height of the storm and arrived hours later to a washy point. For the first day it didn’t even resemble a wave. But the following day, the tide and wind aliened and it was perfect for only a few hours.
This place is by no means a secret anymore, but the fact that it is so fickle and needs an extremely specific swell direction to break and a certain tide, it doesn’t work for long… sometimes only just a couple hours a day, a few days a year. So we were very lucky and excited to surf this spot for a few hours with a bunch of mates out – until the crowds rocked up…” – Dirty Habits
