At what point can a barrel be classified as ‘long’? Also, is it the number of seconds spent beneath the falling curtain, or is it the distance travelled inside the vortex?
For instance, while a six-second barrel might not crack the ‘insanely long’ mark, it would be classified as ‘long’. In this clip Slummies ex-pat Kevin Olsen records six seconds of barrel time on this Hossegor, France drainer, but he travels what must be 60 metres* before getting chowed – which many of us would consider ‘insanely long’.
Either way, that means Kevin was averaging 36km/h while he weaved his way through this tunnel with no escape.

Oh my South of France! love those beachies!
There is footage of KO doing 15 seconds at a nameless spot on the south coast….
AND this is a pit.
Sick -I would have also fallen off coming out the tube
with all those French boobies on the beach poking me in the eyes.
