Durban Pumps into November

If you combine a consistent east swell hovering around the 2m – 3m mark with very decent sandbanks along the Durban beachfront, what you get is a week-long surf fest to please the town crowds.

“I’d dare say it’s the best I’ve seen town in at least two years…” mentioned surf coach Quintin Jones while Zag jogged past. “It was honestly the first time I’ve ever had to sit and watch the groms, while thinking to myself that I have the worst job in the world.”

Last week saw plenty of rip and the crowd ebbed and flowed like the spring tides, but there were smiles all round.

Check out a couple of moments captured by the Shot Bru contributers.
