Cyclone Jade (2009)

With all attention focussed on Supertubes as the world’s best contest the J-Bay Open, we throw you back to March 2009 when cyclone Jade sent super tubes to Durban’s New Pier. The tenth cyclone of the ’09 South Western Indian Ocean season, Jade produced three straight days of sand-churning barrels for the Golden Mile, and Zag lensman, Greg Ewing, was there to capture some of the moments.
