Ryan Janssens is a talented photographer from Durban with a massive passion for shooting surfing (and riding a couple of sick waves too).
He recently took his maiden voyage to the land of the lefts, grabbing some incredible images along the way, but also learned that with every perfect pit you score in Indo, there’s a price you have to pay – including hotel rooms from hell, cramped ghetto minivans, and beds as hard as bamboo.
Take a glide through the gallery and re-live his adventure as he cruises from Bali to chase a swell that was lining for Lombok’s Desert Point, before finding his happy place in West Sumbawa.

Shot Ryan…Went to these spots 10 years ago -WOW !! brings back good memories with my brothers and old man.
Indo is still raw to the bone on the outer islands -very easy to just somma die there …..but the Indiana Jones kinda exploration feeling you get from going to these places really opens your mind and clears out any shit in it.
On the one macking (6-8?) day at desert point a Brazzo died after hitting his head and was found floating in the lagoon.RIP
Bali is cool for 3 days max then you gotta get outta there before you loose your mind .
What ever the hell you do ….do not drink Arak Bali – you will be stomach pumped in hospital.
Viva Supersuck and Yo Yo’s and Eckas and Sanur and Keramas and and and and and and and…..bank account details are $#$$!223453 for return trip pleeease.
