Epic wave, just wish they could have gotten closer to the action with some close-ups.

Calvin, Ty, lighten the f–k up. Tell me this little clip did not just make your day? So instead of bitching, why not dry your eyes and says thanks to the boys who made it.

Bloody idiots!!! It will be the same “locals” who will bitch and complain when the wave gets crowded but yet they keep posting pics and clips all over the net with every swell. FOOLS!

If you have ever been up to this wave, you will know that the real locals – like the ones you see in this clip – are some of the coolest locals you will meet. But i’m guessing you have never been close to this spot.

We all know bruns cant even stand on a surfboard and hogs every wave at that place on his kite board when theres a bit of wind and cant figure out why the other locals get pissed at him. Loubser has the place waxed but will sell his local spot to any one with a sponser sticker on his board.

Same here – I’m really struggling to see the benefits of publishing any more footage of this spot. Must be an ego trip. These locals are going to love it when it gets like J-bay. Too late already maybe?

Cant say I appreciate the spot being smeared on the net like this, but it is another perspective, cool to see and takes hell of a skill to fly remote chopper. Also I’m sure Bruns didn’t spent 50k on a charter helicopter like AVG, and he still got it on the Zag site.

    Haters gonna hate…..!!

Job well done Bernt!! And to the rest of you, are you questioning ZigZag’s decisions on the footage THEY see fit to post on their site?? And just to make it clear, the locals have accepted the inevitable (international publishing & exposure) a long time ago. The damage has been done. So why can’t they just join in the fun with sharing their local talent to all the other surfers out there to enjoy?? It’s not like THEY have been the cause of this ‘already’ crowded spot! Get a grip and stop judging…..

Now we can spend hours debating about silly things and get no where.

Firstly people leaving bad comments feel so strong and save hiding behind a fake name. Man up and say who you are and then your issue.

I know this spot fairly well and people who have surfed here know that the conditions have to be spot on for this place to work. How many guys did the trip up here and had no wave to surf because conditions were not right. We also know that this is not an easy wave and many have traveled here with no wave to claim, just broken boards and bloody nose. Then you need to know how to get there. If you have an issue about surf spots being published don’t buy a surf magazine or watch any surf videos, oh and don’t forget to surf only your local spots. Say goodbye to overseas surf trips because you are invading someone else spot.
If kitesurfing is so easy why don,t you come and do the same thing. We usualy help the surfers to tell them when there is a big set approaching and have gotten of many waves for a surfer to go. Wish i was that good that i could be on every single wave Ha ha, so get you fact straight.

The earth is evolving and new people are born every day and new surfers hitting the water every day too. Are you going to ban them from surfing your spot too.
My movie is not made to feature somebody specifically, and Shaun was lucky ( maybe unlucky in this discussion) that i got such a nice shot of him. Nobody asked me to make a movie of them or promote them. This video was made on my expense and to show mother nature doing its thing. This is a world class wave that needs surfers on it period, and not people standing on the beach leaving bad comments at people showing of their great talent they have.
This will not be my last video, in fact its just the beginning and am planing on getting even better shots the next time.
I say thanks again to those who enjoyed the movie, and hope that storm brewing generates lots of good swell for you guys down in SA.
    Have a lekker day

I really do not know what the fuss is about this spot. Breaks 4 – 5 times a year and then it’s not even that good all the time. Why drive all the way out to get blown apart by the wind when you can get some of the best waves of your life right in town at my local spot Toilets aka Wreck. This place breaks everyday and although it’s not as long as Skeletor Bay it more than makes up for in quality. I’m usually out there most afternoons (when I’m allowed to surf) ripping it up in my minimal. Just check for the dude with the butterfly on his board and you will know who the real local is. La paix out.

I concur with The Fox, Toilets is a much better wave. Easy access and less crowded but it can get just as heavy as Skeletor Bay on it’s day.

Yes! agreed! Toilets is a way better spot and more consistant! But we know the butterfly fox is the only real ripper out at that spot! You have to get his approval before you are allowed there so mostly I avoid surfing it as I do not wish to upset the butterfly fox!
