Flying below radar through many coastal surf towns, this Surf Ninja tends to spend his daylight hours in the water. His dad, Marc Wright, is a World Champion and Keagan has picked up on his knowledge of late, ripping up a storm.
Name: Keagan Wright
Age: 21
Local spot: Bronze beach, Umhlanga
Best thing about surfing: Making a mission with some mates when the waves are promising and it pays off. Surfing and chilling with mates, doesn’t get better than that.
Worst thing about surfing: Crowded line-ups.
To make living I: I’m currently doing a Marketing degree at Varsity College so hopefully something down that road.
Three tracks that help me shred:
Flatbush Zombies – Thug Waffle
Hole – Violet
Action Bronson – Easy Rider
Best surfer in the world right now: John John, from two to 20 foot.
Dawnie or arvo sesh: Dawnies in Winter and arvo sesh in Summer.
Which spot I have to surf before I die: Rifles in the Mentawai Islands.
When I’m not surfing, you can find me: Chilling with friends or cruising around Umhlanga.
Greatest fear: Moving to a place with no ocean.
Best surfing memory: Surfing a right-hand point on the South Coast for a few hours with just my dad out.
