The search for SA’s Ultimate Beach Babe is back on for 2013, and there’s plenty at stake for the gorgeous contestants who are vying for the coveted title of Miss Zag – including an all expenses paid trip to Mauritius for two, a quiver of surfboards, and a thick stack of prizes from sponsors Rip Curl and Reef Brazil, plus more.
So in order to get to know some of the contestants a little better, we got them to fill in the blanks below. Meet this week’s Miss Zag contestant, Maxine Caruth:
Hi my name is Maxine, but you can call me Max or Maxi!
To make a living I am currently coaching, studying and modelling part-time, but I’d rather be on a tropical island in paradise!
The funniest thing I ever saw was my aunts reaction after sending her an ‘anonymous’ SMS saying, “I hid the body.. now what?” (It was a classic prank!)
My favourite item of clothing are my sissy boy jeans, but I would swap them any day for a bikini.
The last time I was standing in the ocean in Australia, I saw three or four dolphins, who swam right up close to us. It was an amazing experience.
Out of all my friends Amy and Tracy have taught me to laugh at just about anything, and that laughter is honestly the best ‘medicine’.
If I’m not catching a wake at Midmar Dam with family, you can catch me having a good time with my friends or on the beach.
I think surfers are mad, but are so brave! I still have to conquer getting into the water with those sharks!
I’d love to one day travel around the world, but you’d never catch me using a train to travel! (I don’t trust those small rails to keep it on the track.)
If I had three wishes I’d wish for peace, love and laughter.
I secretly have a crush on Zac Efron, even though he doesn’t know it yet.
I have a pet hedgehog called Sonic. (‘Super Sonic’ because he is an expert escape artist and a pro hide-and-go-seek player.)
My most embarrassing moment was when I was at La Lucia Mall having breakfast at Maxi’s, which ended up with me wearing my breakfast as a new fashion statement.
My ultimate dream is to make it big in the modelling world, as well as pursuing my passion by helping as many children and underprivileged people as I can, but if that doesn’t work out then ending up on a tropical island doesn’t sound all that bad!
