One of SA’s greatest global surfing ambassadors has recently lost his main sponsor, and joins current ISA World Surfing champ Shaun Joubert, as well as a long list of big-name pros around the world who are not receiving the support they previously enjoyed.

Twiggy doing what he does best at Dungeons.
The news may come as a surprise to everyone who knows just how much Twiggy has done for SA’s global recognition among surf fans and media, but if we consider the number of red-hot surfers currently being dropped by Brand A or Brand B across the globe, perhaps we all shouldn’t be quite so surprised?
There’s also two sides to every story, so while Zag looks to get word from Billabong locally, you can read Twiggy’s thoughts about losing his sponsor in this interview he has just done with STAB.
Everyone knows that this has nothing to do with the riders -Billabong International got greedy and got themselves listed on the stock exchange and lost over 50 % . Cheron Kraak made her bucks (R100’s millions just before they listed it .)Clever lady.
Obviously during a recession period a loaf of bread takes priority over a pair of boardshorts.
Surf industry .is so fickle .
Grant will network and get himself another Sponsor probably one which is probably owned by Mrs C. Kraak !!
you know what?If the surf industry drops their prices, theyd sell al heck
of a lot more merch,I mean it costs them a pittance to manufacture in
those 3rd world countries, sometimes in the same factories as other non
surf brands that sell their merch at half the price of surf companies, come on,but it does take a business degree to realise that,so youre all forgiven..LOL
