Back in March 2017, we took a trip too Sri Lanka, and brought along the salty C-dog, Casey Grant, and Jordan Alexander. We found Sri Lanka to be a true Shangri-La, a mythical paradise, gifted by the most generous of the wave gods with entirely shreddable peaks. An air students dream. So we dived in to our hard drive in search of Greg Ewing’s image documentation of the journey, and mandated that Jordan caption them images. And so was born a #ThrowBackThursday dedicated to Sri Lanka.
Please do enjoy, issue 41.4’s journey to Shangri-La.

Casey's go to, back hand blast.

Brother Casey showing the other 50 guys out the back what fins he's using

Too smooth to move.

End bowl finisher at a secret spot with a lovely backdrop.

The busy stretch of Hikkaduwa.

First wave after a long tuk tuk ride.

Basically what we were surrounded by from the second we arrived. haha. No complaints.

The morning light of our dawny missions was incredible. Here's another crew on the same mission a couple feet ahead.

Squeezing into a perfect little tunnel.

We had been speaking about going to this spot for ages, and when we arrived, it was firing! As can be seen by the salute.

Cuzzi Casey making the most of the afternoon cross shore.

Our right hand man, and guide, Garrath bottom turning through his own personal right bowl.

Casey and I having a laugh at what a jol we had the night before and what waves we had just shared.

Local cruiser about to get a Facebook profile image shot.

Casey Grant and an early morning wrap in front of the house.

The salty C dog, Casey Grant finding himself a little hide away from the dance floor.

Eventually I found the ramp at the end of Rams Right.

A real life soldier aiming his gun at a statue of Casey. haha

The salty C Dog about to combat that lip after their split second stare down.

Found a very friendly little monkey at the Castle.

3 foot perfection.

Me and a fun little backhand crack in front of the house.

Local foreigner who surfs more than anyone I've ever known. Word has it that his wetsuit has algae on it.

Me, setting my fins free.

Looking for the lip of rams isn't always the easiest thing. Casey G about to find it.

Grabbing the rail, flicking the tail, Casey style.

It was intended to be a wrap but it turned into a Larry... no complaints though.

The result of surfing in an oceanic skate park. Hikkaduwa was perfect for these forehand air revos.

Taking a leisurely stroll back to Ebb and Flow Jungalows after another banger session.

Another majestic image by Mr Greg Ewing

One last evening ramp for me!

A balcony with a blissful view. Thanks to the guys at Ebb and Flow Jungalows.
