Being just 16 years-old this week’s Surf Ninja is still perfecting the art of wave assassination. And while the Grand Masters may scoff at some of his technique, it’s fair to say that it’s probably because they’re frightened of the wave slayer that he’ll become by the time his teenage years are behind him – plus the fact that they’re going to have to make some room at the top.
Regularly seen practicing his aerial technique at his homebreak of Long Beach, this week’s Surf Ninja is Kommetjie’s Josh Fairley…
NAME: Josh Fairley

Depends on what time high tide is.
WHICH SPOT DO YOU HAVE TO SURF BEFORE YOU DIE?
Skeleton Bay, Namibia

Spiders. I hate spiders.
BEST SURFING MEMORY?
I paddled out at Dunes with my friend Jayden. It was some of the biggest waves I’ve ever seen in my life. I remember paddling into one huge one, I felt pressured to go because everyone was calling me into it, I just hoped I’d make the drop. I stood up into one of the biggest, longest barrels of my life and I made it out. That’s definitely my best memory.
Go Josh
