Quiksilver’s Movember Surf Jam 2016

Don’t miss the chance to dress up 70’s style, rip a retro board and show off your straggling mo’ all in support of men’s health. The Quiksilver ‘Off The Lip’ Surf Jam will be going down once again at Beach Bums on Saturday, the 26th November. Check out last years action and read the full press release below!

Off The Lip Movember Surf Jam Returns To Beach Bums

The Off the Lip Movember Surf Jam is going down once again, so dress up 70’s style, dust off the old retro surfboard and join the movement for men’s health. Quiksilver is supporting Movember, which in South Africa is licensed by the Men’s Foundation, to create awareness and raise funds for Movember. Men are facing a health crisis that isn’t talked about, they are dying before their time. You can help change that.

During the month of November grow a moustache, get together for a Movember event, any excuse for a good time, or do what the surfers taking part in the Off the Lip Movember Surf Jam will be doing on the Saturday 26 November and move for Movember. It’s easy to get involved and stop men dying too young.

Mo Sista Heather “Fergie” Clark, a Movember ambassador, is super stoked for Off the Lip action. The surf coach once ranked 3rd among female surfers in the world, will be dusting off her tie-dyed t-shirt and getting on a retro board to show her support for men’s health. For this women’s surfing legend, Movember is personal. “Shortly after my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer my dad went for a routine checkup and was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Through their positivity and love for life, I’m proud to say that both my parents are cancer survivors. Please guys, speak up, stop putting it off and have your checkups regularly! Do this for yourself and for the people who love and care for you.” To support Clark’s Movember fund raising efforts click HERE.

Make a donation online bring your flower power to Tongaat’s Beach Bums and have a good ‘ol time. All proceeds on the day, which are raised through participant entry fees as well as various raffles, will be donated to the Movember Foundation, a foundation aimed at bringing awareness and raising necessary funds for various men’s health issues including prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.
