Last Chance for Aspiring Filmmakers!

It’s officially the last week for aspiring filmmakers to enter their original projects into Zag Shorts, our eight-month-long short film competition presented by GoPro! There have already been seven monthly winners selected, with the final month’s winner being chosen at the end of January. From these eight, a final overall winner will be decided and he/she will be walking away with R20 000, not to mention an all expenses paid surf trip with Zag. View all competition details on the official ZagShorts site.

Scotties local, Richard Van Wyk has been living and working in the UK for the last few years, cutting his teeth to earn some proper pound and build his production company – Creative Capture. But whilst home for the December holidays, Rich was able to spend some time in the water at his local, capturing this epic POV compilation of Gavin Roberts, which he has just entered into the final January leg of competition.

Deep In The Burgh – By Richard Van Wyk (January)

Josh Rowe has consistently stunned us over the past year with his amazing video entries, both into last year’s The Striped Horse Challenge, and ZagShorts. Now, with only a week left until the final month’s winner is selected, Josh submitted this epic compilation of surf footage he’s collected on various trips whilst travelling in 2015 – and it may be his best entry yet.

We Surf – By Josh Tiger-Rowe (January)

Josh is just one of many South African videographers who dedicate a large amount of their time, energy and bank balance to produce the surf imagery that we as surfers love to watch. Check out other commendable entries by Steve Michelsen, Ryan Collins, Richard HamblochTao Farren-Hefer, Graeme Brunt, Mathew Gardner, Marck Botha, Tamarac Park Searll and Grant Clegg – who are just some of the many entries in the running for the grand prize.
