Shortly after recovering from a busted ankle, Matt Bromley made his way to Ireland to find some waves like this:
The slabbing pit was filmed by Guy Macindoe at the notorious Mullaghmore Heads, and it has been entered into the final leg of the Monster Energy Pitstop powered by Zigzag in association with O’Neill and iON Action Cameras.
The Kommetjie charger negotiates some tricky steps on his way through the backdoor on this square Irish keg, which makes it a serious contender for this month’s leg of the Pitstop. It’s going to be a tough call for the judges though, as there has been a few other epic tubes entered in December – like this one by Southern Cape tube-master, Adin Jeenes:
This month’s winning ride will receive a R5000 hamper from O’Neill (for the surfer), plus an iON Air Pro WiFi Lite (for the videographer). It will also become the fifth finalist in line for the ‘Pit of the Year’ grand prize worth R30 000*.
There are just a few more days left to enter, so if you’ve got a tube of your own go to monsterpits.co.za and submit it. Or you can check out all the entries so far and vote for your favourite.
* Pit of the Year prize includes:
• R15 000 to the winning surfer
• R10 000 to the winning videographer
• An iON Air Pro 3 WiFi worth R5 000
