Brittany Whyte has officially won the title of Miss Zag in the search for SA’s Ultimate Beach Babe.
The gorgeous 18 year old from Kimberly was chosen as Miss Zag from over 100 other contestants after a six-month contest where entrants were invited to build up their own modelling portfolio online. The public then got to vote for their favourites along with a panel of judges to decide six finalists, and ultimately one winner.
“Oh my word! I am speechless…words cannot describe how excited I am!” said Brittany when Zag broke the news to her. “Winning this title means the world to me, and being an ambassador for Zigzag and Rip Curl is an honour and something I’ve only ever dreamt about.”
Although Brittany hails from Kimberly, she spends every possible holiday at the beach but claims she never really thought she stood a chance of winning. “The support I got from everyone enabled me to be more confident. I kept telling myself, If I don’t try and take the chance I’ll never know. I am really glad I grabbed the opportunity.”
Along with the coveted title, Brittany wins an all expenses paid trip for two to Mauritius valued at over R40 000 made possible by All Aboard Travel, as well as a wardrobe of clothing and accessories from event sponsors Rip Curl and Reef Brazil, and a quiver of shiny new sleds from Natural Curve surfboards.
“I can’t wait to get into the water and try them out,” said Brittany. “It’s going to be awesome!”
The five other finalists were Lisa Harrison (Cape Town), Lauren-Ashley Esterhuizen (Cape Town), Winifred Botha (Cape Town), Natashia Sandow (East London) and Kelly McLennan (Cape Town). A huge shout out goes to these other finalists and every contestant who entered.
All six finalists will feature in the exclusive Miss Zag swimsuit shoot and calendar, to be released online for download on www.zigzag.co.za from 20 December 2013.
Miss Zag is presented by Rip Curl / Reef Brazil in association with Boss Models and All Aboard Surf Travel.
