AND THE WINNER IS… Little Harlequin Wins Miss Zag 2.0

Bianka_Portrait

Zigzag in association with Rip Curl, Reef Brazil and Boss Models are stoked to announce the winner of the second annual Miss Zag model search.

After more than six months of campaigning, qualifying for the Top 6 and claiming the majority of the final votes from both the judges and the voting public, Bianka Hartenstein aka ‘Little Harlequin’ from Cape Town has claimed the coveted title of SA’s sexiest beach babe.

“I am out of my skull, and quite frankly going overboard with happy tears…” beamed the 24 year-old Camps Bay resident when we broke the news. “I came into this blindly after a friend mentioned that there is a surfer girl or beach babe competition going on – she had me at the word “surfer”. Honestly, only after entering the competition did I read the terms and conditions as well as the prizes. I just wanted to get better at surfing and thought that this was the ideal way to combine my new years resolution. To be honest, I never would have thought that I’d actually have the honour of being Miss Zag. Thank you for making my universe.”

As well as shooting an exclusive Zigzag calender with fellow finalists, Bianka also claims a stack of incredible prizes from sponsors Rip Curl and Reef Brazil, a quiver of surfboards from Natural Curve, and a two year modelling contract with Boss Models, which includes a trip to either New York or Europe to shoot her portfolio.

Zag would like to give a massive shout-out to the other 78 gorgeous girls who entered Miss Zag, it was amazing to have every one of you involved. Look out for Miss Zag 2013, coming to you soon via www.miss.zigzag.co.za

In the meantime, Zag snuck a peek at our new queen’s diary, where she wrote some thoughts about her win:

… Life will never be the same for a Little.Harlequin …

I am overwhelmed with happiness, literally to a point of uncontrollable laughter combined with joyful tears. I had to sit back and chill for a good hour before I could grasp what has just hit me. Gosh, I feel like such a girly-girl right now… sitting here, balling my eyes out from happiness… not quite that hardcore bushwoman chick right now 😛

All this time and effort that my friends and family have put into supporting me, all the anticipation and nervous browsing through the competition’s best, all the shoots done with awesome photographers in aim to flesh out the Little.Harlequin profile… has finally come to an end with a rock falling off my heart. I wish I can express the pool of euphoria I’m swimming in right now. It would have never come this far if it wasn’t for all the love and help of my positive friends, family and fans. Thank you SO much guys, for being the force behind the Little.Harlequin and believing in me and my work.

Being a girl that is now living in Camps Bay with her dad, at times in Vredehoek with her boyfriend, grew up in Swakopmund (Namibia) with her mom, and traveled to numerous places to find a possible living space… it hasn’t always been easy to focus on a future that I so badly want to settle in. I am now 24 years old, not the youngest peach among models out there any more, another reason why I am so happy that this competition has opened the doors for me and I can finally take a BIG step in this career.

I came into this blindly after a friend mentioned that there is a surfer girl or beach babe competition going on… she had me at the word “Surfer”. Honestly, only after entering the competition I read the terms and conditions as well as the prizes. I just wanted to get better at surfing and thought that this was the ideal way to combine my new years resolution. To be honest, I never would have thought that I’d actually have the honour of being Miss Zag. Thank you for making my universe.

I want to send out a special thank you to the Zigzag team for giving us girls this opportunity and challenge to be Miss Zag every year.

I wish you all, be it surfers, animals, geeks or super heroes… Only the best, tons of epic waves, positive thinking and a hell of a
adventurous future.

Yours truly,
Little.Harlequin
