Returning home after extended over sea’s surf missions, Chad Du Toit was shocked with all the construction going down along his precious Golden Mile. But with the pot at the rainbow’s end probably meaning a major upgrade to Town’s waves, he’s not too fazed with the necessary eye-sore. He is optimistic. Already, there are signs of awesome banks around the piers thanks to the newly created rips, reckons Chad.

The rocks have been topped up, the rip is churning out fresh banks and the spanking new sand pipe is now in place at North Beach. The first shipment of precious commodity is also scheduled to be delivered soon. Durban’s surfers are positive that they will soon be partaking in sand gurgling Super-Bowls.

The conveyer belt rip in full operation after the rocks and sandbags were added to the inside of North Beach Pier recently. FYI: New Pier’s rocks have been topped up. North Beach is complete and should be re-opened to the public soon. Rocks and sandbags are currently being dropping in at Bay and the sand pipes will be installed in the next two weeks.

Could it be? After years of dormancy there has been evidence of Dairy Beach lefts making a resurrection. Chad Du Toit gets vert, yesterday (27 November), in the Dairy bowl.

Although it has been small in Durban for the past few weeks there has been plenty bowls lighting up around the newly laid groynes inside the Piers. Casey Grant fires the afterburner at New Pier.
