Windguru alerted me to a nice swell running up the West Coast with southeast winds. I was all over Elands Bay for a short photo / surf mission.

I set up at the keyhole and shot down the point. I pulled back the shot to capture more wall and including the foreground and background for composition. Like a layer cake! I am not sure who the rider was in this shot, he was snagging some good ones.

This was another unidentified rider who was shredding Elands this day. I enjoy shooting underground shredders. If you see me shooting I'm amped to shoot you, maybe get you some Zigzag gallery time eh eh!

It just so happens that World Tour surfer, Travis Logie was in town for the little west coast pulse. I went tighter on this shot of Travis to highlight the action here. His surfing is so fast and critical and you can see the speed of his rails as he squares up this section.

Travis again, jamming hard. The wind starting coming up quite hard and the light was a bit harsh. But it is a great move.

back in Cape Town. This was shot of a local punting a solid straight air at the infamous Big Bay, in Bloubergstrand. Not the greatest wave in town but when you have good surfers to shoot you can capture some opportunistic moments. I could have zoomed in on the action here but I wanted to get a bit of the carnival that is Big Bay.

Back home in the Southern Cape. Local rippers, Adin Jeenes and Dillion Marshall chat before heading out for a few at Vic Bay.

While I was shooting Adin and Dillion in the beachie, I captured this guy jiving the tail up the point. The pylons of the fishing pier framed the shot perfectly, and by accident. I remember seeing this same composition in Zigzag last shot by Greg Ewing. No way's can I claim originality on this shot.

Hanging out and shooting with Adin is always a blast. The guy is a laugh a minute. He has the enthusiasm of a grom but also fully focused. Every session with him yields great shots. Here AJ jams a speed hack in the sloppy high tide conditions.

Adin mentioned that he was itching to bust out some airtime in the onshore. So when I nailed this shot I was stoked that I got what I came looking for.

Dillion scores a rare, good, right in the beachbreak.

Dillion was also amping to go big this session. Unfortunately the tide made the rights a little chuncky. But Dill is a gifted surfer and can make it happen.

This morning myself and Adin took it real slow because the wind was wrong and we were planning to chill at the beach with some friends. A mate called and told us he had a hunch a particular spot was working and asked us to tag along. Hey Presto!

This was Adin's last wave that day. He came in, we went for a quick lunch and by the time we came back the wave machine was switched off.
