2010 SA Longboard Surf Classic to play host to International Rugby legends who smaak to surf

In order to raise the overall profile of the SA Longboard Classic 2010, it has been decided to invite a few local rugby ‘heroes’, who are also surfers, to be involved in the week of SA Longboard Nationals. 

A huge fundraiser evening is planned for the 27th April and we are hoping to attract corporate involvement. This Gala Evening has become important to us as the funds raised there will allow us to finance the running of the event and to meet the social responsibility commitment agreed upon initially.

This exciting addition to the Championship is a celebrity Rugby Legends surf-off on Tuesday 27/04 which will see the likes of Andy Marinos, Garth Wright, Peter Whipp, Rob Louw, Bob Skinstad, Robbie Fleck, AJ Venter and the legendary All Black, Murray Mexted, in the surf. Following the surfing, on the evening of Tuesday 27 April, the Legends will attend a Gala Dinner at the Resort to celebrate the opening of CSF Resorts new world-class conference facility, THE LEGENDS HALL. 

Funds raised at this dinner will go toward a Social Responsibility Programme which will benefit two organizations, namely Penguins East Cape and the EP Child and Youth Culture (a Garth Wright initiative).  Tickets for this fantastic once-off dinner will be made available to corporate business and individuals, affording them the opportunity to host clients and friends. We are still waiting for word from other players, AJ Venter included.
