Slummies - Backyard Diaries Day 4

01/09/09 - 22:30:14PM ~ By Clavicus Bradley ~

Well, we have been told before that it can't stay four foot and offshore forever. I was starting to think that the rule did not apply here. Wrong! Today, after 3 epic days of classic waves, the onshore was up. And after all the good surf we have got in the past few days the guys were not up to surfing onshore. So we decided to call a mellow off day.

After a Wimpy breakfast, half the crew decided to go check out the local lion park, while the rest went back to base camp to chill. The Lion park was really rad, there were all sorts of animals just roaming around, like a tame Nyala that ate from your hand, a bushpig that loved turning the roaming tortoises on their backs, and even two Llama's. The highlight of the park though was a three month old White Lion cub called Snowy. He was a playful bugger and took the opportunity to poke holes and scratches in t-shirts and shoes.

Not much else to report on other then that. But isn't that what lay days are for? Just relaxing and recharging for when the waves come up again which will hopefully be tomorrow. Let's wait and see.
