Zigzag / Hurley Sponsor me Shootout finals Day 4

01/09/09 - 22:55:24PM ~ By Brandon Bradley ~

If you have been following the finale of the Shootout you would know that the finalists have been plugging out copious amounts of water-time. The work-rate has yielded a hard-drive full of A-grade images and more cranking video footage to shake a 6’1 at.

So we tossed the boys the morning off on Day 4 and waiting for the tide to drain out at Vic Bay. For us behind the scene monkeys, the manic work schedule persisted. The time spent sweating the small things like klapping a coffee, Interviews, coffee, video cutaways, coffee, and other compulsory surf media obligations.

The talking point of the morning was John Micheletti’s vox-pop response to our rapid interview which we thought summed up the Shootout finalists perfectly. This was his take:

ZZ: Ewald van Heerden?
John: Speed.
ZZ: Jasper Eales?
John: Supple.
ZZ: Chris Bond?
John: Technical.
ZZ: Adin Jeenes?
John: Natural.
ZZ: John Micheletti?
John: STRONG!

Fast forward to late morning, the tide was well drained and more waves were begging to be spanked. Two solid sessions went down, and the hard drive is officially smoked. Check the video and gallery for a taster of what went down today. Chris Bond?

Kelly Whatsisface

One of the battle hardened Aussies: Mick, Taj or Joel. Never write them off.

Jordy, Julian or Owen. They’ve got the experience now to back up the moves.

One of the newbies: John John or Medina. They’re doing stuff that even has Kelly scratching his head
