Those magic little waterproof GoPro cameras (called HD Surf Hero to be exact) have finally become available in South Africa, and to celebrate its arrival Zigzag and its local distributor, Gotech, have partnered up to launch the GoPro Surf Hero Project SA. The aim of the contest is to showcase the best video or photo captured on a GoPro in South Africa, or by a South African. The winning entry will be decided by an astute panel of Zigzag judges and the winner announced in the December issue of Zag.
GoPro cameras are primarily used to shoot yourself surfing, but we welcome videos or photos of other surfers, waves, shorebreaks, you name it. For example you could submit a video clip you caught inside a mutant shorey, or you could swim out and take some hand held still photos of your mates getting ridiculously slotted on a good day.
So far we have received some classic submissions, with a few potential winners of the main prize of an O'Neill Psycho II wetsuit valued at R2799. Take a peek at the latest edited video entry above from Lampeez above, shot at Deadmans Ledge, as an example. The photo entries we have received from our Shot Bru contributors have also been quite imaginative, putting them right in the running.

How to Enter:
To enter all you need to do is sign up as a member of Zigzag’s photo and video sharing website – shotbru.co.za - then simply upload and share your video or still images shot from your GoPro on the website, and tag the image as GoPro. Easy! The cool thing about GoPros are that they record in a format that you can load directly to the portal.
Remember to insert the word 'Go Pro' or, 'GoPro' in the title of your entries to be listed automatically into the contest.
